Hi Everyone,

I have a quandry for you. I did PD training with my DS and he goes to sleep independantly. I have since used gradual withdrawl and WI/WO all successfully, but now he is 15 months it's all changed. DS usually goes over to sleep in less than 5 mins and any help is to pass back a thrown blankie/ dummy and say a few comforting words  ::). But when he is OT (at the moment due to pesky molars  >:() he gets very wound up when I go into the nursery. Last night I PD super early at 5.10pm as he was completely exhausted  :( It took him untill 6.30 to finally settle. I did WI/WO to return blankie and he was always standing. Lying him down makes him very frustrated and loud! and every time I walk in, as soon as he realises I'm not picking him up, he screams louder and when I leave the volume moves to another level!! On occasion I leave him to settle himself when this happens, for a maximum of 3 minutes and go in if he's still not happy, but often he settles within that time. However if he doesn't what do you do? I don't want to go anywhere near CIO territory but I can't seem to help. Staying with him turns the whole thing into a circus show with headstands and juggling etc.

Any experience or advice folks  ???

Oh and by the way, just incase you think what I describe above may be UT...it definetely isn't, it's just a long story to explain  :(

Thank you  ;).x.

Hi Vicki, I am going to lock this and link it to your current thread since you already have some background information there.  This way we can keep all the advice in one spot.  I will be over to have another look in a bit.  :)
