DS woke up at 9:15 this morning!  He needs about 11h total A time per day, so I thought, I needed to keep him up and do a bt closer to 8:15-8:30.  The usual bt is more like 9 than 8:30 these days which is not what we like.

DS was so tired from 12:30 onwards even though we had activities to keep him interested and some calm tv time.  He fell asleep at dinner table at 6pm.  This is my first time seeing him dozing at dinner table.  I put him to bed right away and then he woke up screaming for meatballs.  Got him up and he was wide awake!

How do you handle when LOs fell asleep at dinner?  Do u just let them sleep on the table for a bit?  It was taking him ages to fall asleep and he was crying, etc. :(  Finally went quiet at 9:10!  :(  I would like to have formulated a plan for such occasions so I know what to do next time.  Thanks.

I would wake him but that's just me.  Not that F would ever fall asleep at a table but if he did, I'd wake him.

H would never fall asleep, no matter how tired he was but yes like Wendy I would wake him.

i tried and he just opened his eyes a little and then nodded off again.

If you wake him, then everything stays the same, right?

Mine would never ever fall asleep at the table either but if he did I would pick him up and carry him to bed for the night!

Mashi, we did and failed.  He would go to sleep at daycare (he fell asleep a couple times when he started there because we were on 5am EW).

If I woke him I would keep everything the same.  Closing his eyes is a nap to Finn, whether it's 2 minutes or 90 mins.

He's not transferable either.

I'd probably let him sleep long enough to get a photo for posterity though lol

i somehow sensed that he was going to nod off so i had the video camera ready :D  got the whole process.  I just wish i had it on longer but we thought to put him to bed right away, so i dropped the camera and went to get a towel to wipe him LOL..

how i wish J would fall asleep on the table , i have never seen that one , and these days with the huge stand off on sleep, it will be a pleasure !

do post the pics !

If J is has not had a nap in the afternoon and wants to sleep around 6ish. i let her sleep for 15 mins and wake her up. and then am prepared for a 9:30 ish sleep time. We can enjoy some extra time together :). did not impact her wakeup time next day. when we were waking up at 7:00.
