Hi all
My (just turned) 2 year old has been on the EASY routine since day 1 and has napped and slept beautifully. We have just had number 2 who is about 8 days old and, for the past few evenings, bed time has become difficult for my 2 year old. He cries after his mum or dad when we leave the room and one of us ends up going back in to offer more milk and more bedtime stories. He takes the extra milk (almost twice his usual amount by the time he is done) and then appears comforted and goes to sleep on his own.
This has happened a few nights in a row and I am nervous of it becoming a bad habit. I don't think he is hungry but rather expect he is seeking comfort in the light of baby's arrival. I know it is not a big complaint and it is early days but does anyone have any ideas as to how to address this? Do I just go with it until the dust settles and worry about breaking the habit once he has adjusted to the new arrival? Or do I nip it in the bud now and, if so, how? I have never had to do PU/PD and would be loathe to start something like that now.
Thank you
