lost about napping
« on: June 13, 2011, 18:34:36 pm »
My daughter is 2 months old and she sleeps well during the night waking 1x for a feeding. At night she sleeps in her crib and  I swaddle her and shush pat if necessary.  HOWEVER, during the day she naps in her swing with a pacifier.  She will take a good long nap in the morning of about 2-3 hours and then 1-2 hours in the afternoon and early evening.  I am now trying to transition her to nap in her crib at least 2x/day.  i put her in her crib with her pacifier and blanket swaddling with  her arms out...she cries within minutes and start shhh her and she falls asleep.  She sleeps like that for about 30-45 min then wakes crying.  Am I on the right track and she will just increase the amount of time as she becomes more comfortable???

Yes you will probably find the naps increase as she gets used to not napping in the swing but you may need to help her extend the naps for now.  Have you tried extending them so far?

What A time is you DD managing?

At 2 months ssh-pat would probably be the way to go.  So try to be in there when she stirs and ssh-pat back to sleep.

If she's wakening crying she is obviously still tired but just having a problem making it through the sleep cycle.
