How much is too much?
« on: July 27, 2011, 02:14:11 am »
I started EASY about two weeks ago now, and DD went from sleeping in a swing/pack n' play for a half hour here and there throughout the day to napping in her crib for sometimes more than 2 hours at a time. Here's our EASY schedule:

E 7am- wake up and BF
A 7:30- bath
S 8:15 -10:00 (sometimes sleeps till 10:30)

E 10am BF
A 10:15
S 11:15

E 1:00pm BF
A 1:15
S 2:15

E 4:15pm BF
A 4:30
S 5:30

A 6:30
E 7:00 BF
S 7:30 bed time

Just wondering if she's getting too much sleep. I now wake her up if she sleeps beyond 2 hours. She does wake up during her naps at about 45 mins but goes back to sleep usually on her own. When I wake her up, she will often cry as I'm changing her and won't settle until I feed her, but will often fall asleep while I'm feeding her! She's sleeping for 6-8 hours during the day, and usually falls asleep around 8pm and will wake up around 5am, fuss on and off till 6ish, and then go back to sleep until around 7am.

I'm so glad that she's able to go to sleep on her own and that she's sleeping so well, but just wondering if it's normal for her age to sleep so much during the day. According to Tracy's EASY schedule for this age she should be taking three 1.5 hour naps and one cat nap throughout the day.

I think there is a growth spurt around this time which could account for a bit of extra sleeping. But maybe you just have an awesome sleeper on your hands!

Sounds like she's doing great!  I let ds2 pretty much sleep as long as he wanted but he still slept all night as well.  I always think if they're still sleeping well at night and not ew then role with it.  You'll soon know if you start getting UT nw or ew that things need adjusting!
