Quick question . . .
« on: August 22, 2011, 19:06:31 pm »
My boys are 16 weeks old (born at 37 weeks but seem pretty much in line developmentally).  Getting short naps so thinking along the lines of UT/OT.

What sort of activity time should I be looking at at this age?  I'm working on about 2 hours at the minute but rarely manage it for the 1st nap of the day.  They sleep through at night 7 til 7!

Average A time at 4 months is 1h45mins - 2hours.  Have a look at some sample routines around the same age

A times can vary though.  Our first one was always the shortest.

Thanks a lot.  So roughly by how much does the average A time increase as they get older?  for example . . . is there an average time for 5 months and do i gradually work towards it during the 4th month?  Or us that not how it works?

Hi there.
Yes the A time does increase as they get older.

You can also reduce an A time following a short nap to avoid OT (over tiredness).

You must have your hands full with your boys, but if you get a moment to sit zombie-like in front of the computer I recommend browsing through the FAQs in each section of the forum as there is SO much helpful info.  You don't need to start with the first and read them all in order or anything, just browse around and click on things that sound helpful or interesting.  It helped me a lot.
And of course keep asking questions for personal help too :)
