ARGH!!!

DS is 26 months.

I had a perfect independent sleeper, so easy to deal with, do the wind down, kiss bye- bye and then he'd sing himself to sleep for both nap and BT...no longer :(

Sunday - no nap
Monday - perfect nap except I had to stay in there till he was asleep - this is a new trend
Tuesday - no nap - just would not do it.

For the last 2 weeks or so naps have been a bit hard and there have been a lot of NWs.

I can not have no nap. I NEED nap. Nap is my only free time, ever. I do not get any other free time except for when DS is sleeping. I NEED NAP!

Is he dropping nap?

How am I going to cope with this?

Please, hugs, advice, BTDT...anything you got girls bring it, I am losing my mind!

xo

My DS is 30 months and I have asked myself this question time and time again over the last 6 months or so....he seems like he's going to drop it, so we have 2 or 3 weeks of nap capping/cutting (whilst I'm crying over losing my naptime ;) ), and then he decides that actually he will keep the nap. Then a few weeks later it all starts again. So, just some encouragment that no, it may not mean he's dropping it just yet. It's probably the start, but if it's anything like here then it's a long road till you actually get to no nap :)

I think that there are various phases that they go through starting at about 2 where their sleep needs fluctuate a lot. I went through this with both my girls at a similar age and cried over losing the nap, but m napped until 4.5 and e is still napping at 3.25 so it might not be the end just yet.

We are in the same boat here! DS is 26 months also and yesterday, for the first time in History, he didn't nap!! He too has been a perfect independent sleeper since 3 months old (although EWer),always loved his naps, and I was in shock when I realized I had to send him to school without his usually 2,5 hour long morning nap. He didn't sleep in school, DH managed to pick him up a little earlier and BT was 1 before the usual time.
We desperately need his nap to continue also, since I have a 7 week DD. I can feel your pain! And I was very happy to hear it isn't necessarily The End for our beloved naps...
hugs

Well he went down well for his nap today...I don't know what's going on with him. He had 3 NWs last night all of which required a gentle pat on the back and nothing more. This morning he had a little bit of diarrhea so i wonder if the NWs were tummy cramps...

Eaf - we can commiserate together!

DS has also been napping for 1h40. I'm so relieved!! I'm so not ready for this yet.
I wish your LO gets better soon!
