1 year old early wakings
« on: December 01, 2011, 15:42:54 pm »
Hi!

I need some advice pleeeeaaase!

My LO has been waking at 5:30 for the past 3 days and I'm not sure what to do.  She is teething (4 new teeth at one time) but I'm concerned that we are going to start a bad habit here.

Here's her schedule:

Wake:      5:30
Nap #1:    9:30-10:15/10:30
Nap #2:    1:30-2:45
bed:         7:00

Should I put her to bed earlier?  Maybe I need to tweak my schedule??

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!

Maybe cut the am nap and do pm a bit earlier, like 9.30-10 and 12.30-2.30? Xx

Hi Hon,

IMHO it's early days and her EW could be purely down to her teething. Four at once is rough on the poor little mite  :'(. IME when LO's are teething they can wake early as they are in a lighter sleep so any discomfort is felt more easily than earlier in the night. If her EASY has been working I wouldn't do any tweaking right now, untill her teeth have cut through, otherwise you could be trying to fix something that ain't broken. Sometimes it's best to just ride these things out a little while.

Does she tack sleep on  ??? If so and she is OT from the shorter night then try putting her down a little earlier, as long as you think her A time is long enough to BT and she won't be UT. When teething LO often need extra sleep so this may help to keep her happier. You could try giving her a dream med before you go to bed to see if that will help her sleep through, although I must admit I have yet to do this successfully  ::) but others do.

Hugs for the EW Hon..been there so many times and it never gets any easier  ;).
