NWs with a difference. What is going on ??????????
« on: December 28, 2011, 04:26:45 am »
Hi ladies,

I'm back :( DS had 2 strange NWs. One on the 25th/26th (which I put down as excitement of Christmas day) and one this morning. At 3:30am I wake up with M walking around in our bedroom looking out the windown. Yesterday he had a disturbed nap as DH was out with him and when he stopped the car DS woke up only after 30 mins nap( he normally has 1.5 hour nap).

DS has been sleeping amazingly well in the last few months. No NWs +EWs in ages. These current NWs are different from past ones as he is in a BBB and can get out of bed and walk around now.
Any ideas? Do we need a tweak? Or do we just wait a few more days to see? My instincts say to wait a few days????? I don't even know what to tweak as he has been sleeping and napping so well up to now ????????

Could be that he needs a tweak, how old is he now? What routine does he have normally?

Does he have his 2yr molars through?

I wouldn't make any changes over the holidays.  It's chaos and they can feel it.  Revisit in January :)

Hi ladies, sorry for not replying sooner. I'm not coming here so often anymore.

He doesn't seem to be teething? He is happy during the day and is not complaint with pain? He is 27 months.

Good point about the holiday. As this has started right after Chtistmas.  I was thinking the same. He is off nursery for the 2 weeks. These night wakes are horrible and he always seems to wake up at 3:30am. He has just done it again this morning and now I'm wide awake after all the walking back in forth taking him back to his room :(
He didn't do it yesterday but instead he woke up earlier then the groclock and didn't wait for it so we spent 50 mins taking him back to his room until mr. Sunshine came on. So now he has decided to ignore Mr Sunshine in the mornings as well ????

Hmmm, it could all be down to the disruption in his usual routine. I think I'd suggest waiting it out for a bit too.

Yep Finn is getting out of his normal routine as well and it's not that pretty.  I'd really just wait it out for now...keep up with whatever you would normally do, but no overhauling until he's back in proper daycare routine.

He is back at nursery Tuesday. I'm wondering if we should go cold turkey on the nap today and BT 5:30/6pm? What do you think? It's really getting ridiculous! Yesterday he fought nap until it was late and we had to give him only 1 hour. Needless to say he was super grumpy after that. Then he fought BT for 1 hour and 15 mins and when I went into his room at 10pm to take his socks off( I do this every night as he gets very hot during the night if I leave his socks on) I was surprised to find that he fell asleep on the floor after the long battle to keep him in his room. WTH!

Another thing is that he doesn't respect Mr sunshine anymore. This morning he came to our room at 6:40am (Mr sunshine was set for 7pm) we simply decided to ignore him pretending we were sleeping. We started to look like idiots as we were taking him back to his room for hours and he would not stay in there so ignoring could have been a better approach and of course it didn't work and he stayed long enough making too many noises and talking and it was impossible to ignore. Then I walked him into his room to find that Mr sunshine was on. So from his point of view it looked like that he was in our room because Mr sunshine was on, which is not the case *sign* ::)
