ok...yeah I was wondering about the CN too...He will be 6 months on the twentieth...so just next week..I thought maybe he needed to go to bed later then if he didn;t drop the CN cause last night, and tonight, i put him to bed ten min later, and he went down horribly, and he usually goes down really well!!  I'm thinking now he's just not as tired...is there any link for how to drop the CN?  Wondering how to change his other naps, and adjust bedtime then...if he;s taking two 1.5 hour naps and some days, like today, a one hour morning nap, and then two hour afternoon nap..and he usually wakes from his afternoon nap at three, and then his CN is 5:30-6...bedtime 7:30...do you just slowly shorten the CN and not cut it out cold turkey?  Im gonna browse around the site to see if I can find any info, but if you have any advice, it'd be appreciated :)  thank you!

ok..kinda looked around but i think im too tired to take anything in right now!  Im more wondering how to handle his feeding times when his A time increases, and it looks like they really should be able to do three hour A time to drop CN...so maybe i should just push his BT to around 8, instead of seven thirty, while we are working on extending A times....does that sound like it would help with UT...or does it seem like he doesnt need that extra sleep...maybe also cut his CN to twenty min instead of thirty?

It can take a few EBT when dropping the CN to prevent OT...I would jut cut it completely really...

What is your EASY ATM?

here's our easy now (once i went to bed last night i figured how to work feedings w/no CN and longer A longer A tmes..just feed him a bit after he gets up, not right when he gets up in the am)

7am, wake, feed
8am solids
9:30 nap til 11
11am feed
12pm solids
1:30 nap til 3
3pm feed
4pm solids
5:30 CN til 6
bath @ about 6:45, bottle, some quiet time and bed usually around 7:30

so should i try to stretch A times a little more today, and maybe he'll take a two hour afternoon nap if Im lucky to get him later into the afternoon...but try for a BT closer around 6:30 if I can get him that late?  eek...makes me nervous...but I agree..he's just not tired enough at night...we had a bad night last night too...and i dont want him to start separating those last few hours in the early morning from the rest of his night, thinking its a little nap..sheesh!!  We'll fiddle around with things today and go for an earlier bedtime then!  thanks so much, hope it works! :)

It is such a tough time dropping a nap. But i do think sometimes once you take the plunge you do get through it quicker and things start to come right.

I would aim to increase his first A time by 15mins, and if he gives you a good nap then do the same with the PM nap. I would then try and EBT or if you just don think it will work stick with the CN but you will need a later BT.
ie
WU 7
Nap 9.45-11.15
Nap 2-3.30
CN 6-6.30 or BT 6.30
BT 8.00

If things are going well after 3-4 days then you can go for an extra 15mins after the first nap (or before too if you think he can do it) and at BT so your day would become
WU 7
Nap 9.45-11.15
Nap 2.15-3.45
BT 6.45

Also if he sleeps 2hrs for one of those naps you can do this even easier ;)

Good luck! :)

ok that sounds good thank you!  i am wondering too what to do in the morning when he EW...this morning was 5am...i tried to get him back to sleep...no such luck..fed  him just a few oz at 6:30 then he just kind of talkedd and played in his crib til 7...so i don't know that to do with his A time.  just put him down when he's tired? he is just messing everything up  in the early morning so then it's hard to work on extending A times...grr...but yea if anything we might have to go with a later BT while we are working on everything...being up every morning at 4/5 is getting tiring and frustrating!  thanks for all your tips, super helpful! :)
