Operation drop morning feed underway...
« on: April 03, 2012, 06:33:33 am »
...I've felt for a few weeks that I wanted to drop the morning feed as it will make my mornings when I work so much easier. So DH has gotten up to take C downstairs for milk and snuggles on the sofa and maybe some tv to distract her! ::) So I'm lying here catching up on BW ;D but now feeling sad about it! It is the holidays so I could be enjoying long morning snuggles in bed with her.

I should mention that C is showing no sign of wanting to drop this feed so I feel really mean about it.   :-[

Why can't we just have it all?!

Hugs, I hope dropping the feed goes smoothly. I think when we did it the feed was before breakfast so DH had to whip up the toast quickly for Z so he wasn't 'hungry' for the milk ;)

C is never starving when she wakes so the morning feed tides us over for the journey to MIL's and then C has breakfast with her grandma and grandpa!

So we'll play it by ear as to when she seems to want breakfast as I don't mind just giving her breakfast first with milk. She's snuggled on the sofa with daddy, watching tv with a big grin. I asked DH did she seem bothered. He said not one bit! ::) ;D :'(

So day 1 down, let's see where we go from here!

I also dropped the morning feed cos of work-she was wanting to suck for 25 mins or more which wasn't conducive to getting ready in the mornings :P
Hugs, I'm sure you're doing the right thing for you guys, and you can always keep the b/t one for as long as you both want :)

Thanks Charli. I love that morning feed loads but quite often I feel like I'm hurrying her along so I can get out of the door! :( I'm sure it is the right thing, just feels a bit sad and as pathetic as it sounds I was a wee bit gutted that she was totally fine with it this morning. Mind DH brought her straight down so she probably thought there was no option!

Hugs Nicola

I dropped L's morning feed 2 weeks ago.

I also thought she was showing no signs of wanting to drop it and would miss it but actually she hasn't seemed bothered at all ::). I was also a bit sad she didn't seem to miss it but of course it's the best way for L. Hope it continues to go the same for you with C. I'm sure you'll be able to find other nice ways to spend special time with C.

I thought L would be hungry straight away for milk too, but it seems she's quite happy to wait 45 mins and have a cup of milk with her breakfast. Now, when she wakes up, rather than a bf I take her to the toilet and we read books for 5-10 mins (she never wants to get off ::) ).
