Hello! My DS is 6.5 mo old, EBF until about 1 month ago when I started supplementing with 4-6 oz formula/day due to supply issues (I work full-time and pump at work). Until about 2 weeks ago I was nursing DS 2x/night - I weaned him from one of the night feeds upon the advice of my pediatrician as at that time as he was waking multiple times at night. I also weaned him from the paci at that time as that was also a prop. For the past 4-5 nights he has been waking one time a night for the NF around 10:30-11:30 (I don't DF because he has always woken up to feed around DF time) and sleeping the rest of the night. My plan was to wean him from the remaining NF in a month or so, when solids had been established. (He started on solids about 10 days ago and currently takes in about 2 oz/day over two feedings - pureed fruits/vegetables.) However, much to my surprise, last night he STTN (11 hrs) and did not wake for his NF! Weaning the 2nd NF was a struggle so I never expected him to voluntarily skip a NF.
So my question is this - what do I do tonight, if he wakes for his NF? Should I go ahead and nurse as usual, or try to resettle him without nursing? I'm not sure if last night was a fluke or if he is giving me a sign that he is ready to wean the last NF. I would love some suggestions/advice as how to proceed! I wasn't planning to work on dropping this last NF so soon!
Also, I am worried about supply issues - will I be able to maintain my supply if I go 11+ hours without nursing or pumping? Once this last NF is dropped, should I do a MOTN pumping session? Currently I nurse 2x/day, pump 2x/day, and do a nursing top-off at BT.
Thanks in advance for helping me out!!! Any thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated!
