He is getting so OT I don't know what to do. He had a screaming NW at 10pm last night where he just cried inconsolably and couldn't tell me what was wrong. Then he cried out several times after that but only for a few seconds and then back to sleep. Then he was up at 6.10am. He was yawning and rubbing his eyes almost straight away but no way he was going back to sleep. That was only just over an 11hr night. He used to do that or longer after a 2hr naps just 2 weeks ago. There is no way his sleep needs have changed so dramatically. Dh insists it is because he is going to bed so early but I don't know how to change that without giving a nap. He can nearly manage a 12hr day with no nap, 11hrs would be better for him I think. I don't know what time to do bed tonight. And he woke colby this morning so his day is off now as well. I'm contemplating going for a nice long drive along the motorway to lull him to sleep but betting that wouldn't even work.

Ali - what time have you been putting him to bed. At this stage of the transition 11.5 hours is about the max most lo's can handle.
Hugs - it is not from the early nights, it may even be he needs an earlier one xx

HE TOOK A NAP!!!
I drove to play group and took a detour round some fast roads which he just couldn't resist. He slept 3.35 til I woke him at 4.25pm. We will aim for an 8pm BT which should be ok after his super early morning. He used to sleep 9pm to 8 or 8.30am before all this when he napped later and longer.

Becky, Yeah I  agree he probably needs an earlier bt on no nap days. We have had him in bed and asleep by 7 which was fine when he was waking at his usual 8 or later. But when he wakes at 6.10 I just can't have him down by 5.40. I can't do it on my own now he is fighting it as I have colby to feed etc. and DH has already been leaving work earlier than usual to get him asleep for 7.

I'm hoping the nap will push his Wu a little later tomorrow.

so pleased he napped :) :)

Yes I get it on the EBT. I have to do it with H but earlier than about 6.30pm is pretty much impossible. Hope you get a later wake up x

I used to be able to do BT alone although it was hectic but these days when we have to stay with him or he keeps getting out of bed I can guarantee he would still be awake when DH got home at 6.15 anyway. Plus I really need to be feeding Colby his dinner when he wakes at 5pm.

This nap has helped us today but not sure what I'll do going forward. Obviously it's not really practical to drive round and then sit in the car for an hour while he sleeps every day. Especially since colby only does 30min naps out of his bed so it messes his nap up too. Or if it was earlier during his A time he would protest too much.
