We had an awful night, I don't know how long I can still do this. He had a NW at 4AM and he wouldn't settle. After an hour of screaming we took him out and started the day. I just can't listen to him screaming anymore, I think about it the whole day, I dread it in the evening and even when he is sleeping I don't sleep well because I expect him to wake up any time. I have never been so lost with his sleep, there seems that nothing settles him, I even held him tonight, but he was screaming in arms. I don't think I am looking for an advice, because I doubt there is one really, I don't have much hope, I am just looking for someone who will tell me it will all be over soon :(

Hugs!  I reread your routines.  This is like my life back when DS was 8.5-23mo!  EWs and NWs every single night!  On hind sight, i should have done early bt!  Like when he wakes at 5:30, he would need to be in bed at 5:30.  It isnt until DS was 23, he did 2h nap and 12h nights!  Poor you are just so tired!  It isnt meant to be advice but more like that i have been there, it was so tough and luckily DS was not in the side rooms connecting to next door neighbours!!

But now that i type it out you have nothing to lose if you put him to bed at 5:30, at least you get some rest in the evening for the early start.  DH wasnt supportive of it and we were both scared of 4:30wu.  I was always ill, etc..  So we never tried until only a week ago for 6:30bt!

Hugs!!!

well it will....these things are all phases and they do pass even though it does not feel like it at the time.
I forget - do you medicate when he wakes like that?

Thank you deepsea, every hug helps!

Koe, we went back to our usual BT at 19:00, rather than 19:30 and it seems to work for us. Right now I am afraid to make bug changes but I would push that BT even earlier if needed.

Becky, I don't medicate. I actually don't think he is in pain and I don't want to medicate for no reason. But again, it's something I need to give more thought too.

We went to the ped. today and he did a full check up, he said ears are fine and everything else as well. At least I can be thankful for having a healthy child, I shouldn't take it for granted.
He said it's a behavioral thing, that he thinks it will pass away soon and he referred us to a child specialist to get a second opinion.
I think there is not much that we can do, but wait. My grandma used to say time is the best medicine for everything, maybe in this case as well. We will just wait and see how the next few days go.
Thanks again for all your help.
