EASY for an 18 month old
« on: April 26, 2012, 21:13:17 pm »
Ds is 18 months. He's an angel baby, or maybe a textbook. He's pretty darn laid back. He has been on the following EASY for a few months now. Tonight is Night 4 of transitioning him to a big boy bed using WI/WO to make room for new baby. I received help here http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=229657.0 in the Toddler sleep forum, but have been advised to check his EASY to make sure its not making the transition more difficult.

Wake: 7:30am
A: 5.5 hours
S: 1pm for 2 hours (prior to transitioning to big boy bed I would almost always have to wake him from nap)
A: 5.5 hours
Nighttime S: 8:30pm. (Falls asleep independently. Sttn prior to transitioning to big boy bed.)

His nap since transitioning 3 days ago has been shortened due to being in the big boy bed. Each day he has slept only 1-1.5 hours & he seems tired during the afternoon. He also had an early wake this morning (6:30am so not so bad).

The challenges is that he gets out of bed and stands at the gate at the door. He generally doesn't cry, but just seems awfully wakeful. There have been 2 wakes each night since the transition. The first around 11pm is not a problem as he goes back to sleep almost immediately after put back in bed. It's the 4am wake where he seems like he's not tired enough to go back to sleep easily so he's been awake for 1-2 hours just standing at the gate and getting in and out of bed.
