Totally back to normal now, thanks ladies:)
DD is emptying one side and having a bit from the other too.
Last night she fed 2 times instead of the usual 1 but so far I haven't started getting engorged.
I have started getting an unpleasant prickling sensation as my breasts refill after a feed but hopefully that will go away soon.
I've also become a forum junkie...

I had that prickling sensation too, so odd.  Glad to hear the supply is settling down...and this is an easy place to get addicted to, don't say we didn't warn you!  :)

Hiya,

I'm back again because I'm lopsided now. Things settled down well after the last oversupply and we were back at 2 sided feeds which is normal for us. Yesterday things started to get uncomfortable again so I whipped out the cabbage leaves and started block feeding. Block feeding sorted out the side I left full but now I can't fix the other. LO takes the normal side, finishes and wants more so I have to give her some from the side I shouldn't be feeding from. So proper block feeding is not possible. Now what? One side is empty and fills at a normal rate but the other keeps getting engorged....
Do you think keeping it semi-full will be enough slow down milk production or am I doomed to go around with one boob bigger?;)

Argh! How annoying for you. I always had one bigger for about 6-8 months :P They would switch every now and then depending on which side DS preferred flow-wise. One has more holes and sprays (which he preferred when I was engorged) and one has two big holes and is like a fire hose (which he preferred when I wasn't as full).

TBH, even my DH couldn't pick which one was bigger (or maybe he was just being nice...) so it wasn't *that* bad but I could tell, mainly because my bra didn't fit right ::)

Once you get past 3/4 months the way your body makes milk changes, so you may see things settle down a little bit there too, fingers crossed. Otherwise it's really carry on as you are or try to find a local milk bank to take advantage of your abundance for babes who are ill or prem and need the liquid gold :)

hopefully things will settle soon then. I'm sick of being in pain all the time and get stressed whenever I leave the house in case I leak through the bra pads:(
I've been looking into the milk bank but it turns out that we only have one. From what I understand, they only take milk from women who gave birth in their hospital - which isn't me.
