BF & 4hr EASY
« on: August 18, 2012, 11:16:02 am »
Hi,

my lo is 3 months old. i know that BF may not be able to handle a 4hr EASY, BUT, my lo is not even able to handle a 3 hour EASY...its 2.5hrs and a bit longer she starts crying...she has been on 2.5 for some time, then last week it started to be 3hrs but now we are back to 2.5hours... maybe growth spurt?
she is sleeping well through the night, and we are have a bedtime btw 6 and 8 and an awake time btw 6 and 5, with 1 NW for feeding btw 3 and 4.
she is growing and gaining weight nicely. but is the 2.5hr normal for BF babies? should I worry abount my milk supply?

thank you for your support

2.5 hours is very very normal for BF babies.  There is a big GS at 3 months so it could be related to that too.  The fact you are getting such an amazing night with only one NF means she is getting enough through the day.  I would stick with the 2.5 hour feedings if they are working for you otherwise if you stretch them out you may well get another NF to replace the lost calories.

thanks , that is good to know.
I will be going back to work for my part-time job next week and dd1 is starting KG- pick up time at 1... I hope by then this will stretch a bit otherwise its a bit problematic.
I will BF in the morning and will have to pump the 2nd time but was hoping to BF the 3rd time, when I m home a bit after 1...because I will probably be on the road picking up dd1 if she needs to feed earlier...if it doesnt I will probably need to pump as soon as I m home- lunch time for dd1... mmmm.
I was hoping to be able to exclusively BF lo at least till she is 6 months... anyway, i m chattering away, I will need to see how it goes and go with the flow...

thanks for the reassurance, the suport I get on this forum is priceless X
