How to keep a 2.5 y/o occupied in hopsital for a week?
« on: September 09, 2012, 15:51:18 pm »
Olly has to have an op next week so I am going to order a load of stuff from Amazon to keep him occupied. He isn't particulary into cars or toys so it will have to be things like.... books (julia donaldson probably), sticker books (love the Usbourne ones) and the Gruffalo Child DVD are on my list.

What else can I get?? He will be bed/cot bound so need to small!

Poor Olly  :(

This book is fantastic, it is actually a combo of all Obsourne's things to spot books, L got her first at 2 and still, loves them though she is past counting to 10 as they are so detailed:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thousands-Things-Spot-things-Usborne/dp/1409523039/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1347208420&sr=8-6

These books are really good, he may be a bit young but he will probably enjoy scribbling and wiping clean:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wipe-Clean-Things-That-Go/dp/1843322285/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1347208717&sr=1-10

This is a must have book if you haven't got it already, I ahve bought Leorah the colouring in version for her birthdayas she has been crazy about this book forever:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/You-Choose-Pippa-Goodhart/dp/0552547085/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1347208779&sr=1-1

For dvd I don't know a 2 year old that doesn't love Maisy, clear speech, lots of repetition, cute animals and life situation stuf like going to bed:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maisy-Discovers-DVD/dp/B003NSBLRW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347208966&sr=8-1

give him a big hug from me and Leorah  :-*

Minature aquadraw?

(just checked and its pretty much like the galt HH posted)

DH's nephew was tethered to his hospital bed for about 10 days and they said for all the activities they brought really the only thing that held his interest was the IPAD and DVDs as he just wasn't in form for much else especially the first few days.

Magnetic drawing type thing - DD loves hers  :)

Does he like messing?? With DD a pot of buttons and a few pots to sort them would work wonders  ;)

Duplo's new 'build and read' could be good for a boy I think. DD got a farm one this weekend. Bit of reading and doing, plus you can always do a little tower.

When DS is ill all he wants is the TV, DD would rather scream, DVD was made of being ill!!
