Bedtime & naps
« on: October 04, 2012, 08:15:34 am »
Looking for some guidance if possible, my 10week old daughter she will only nap for about 1/2hr maybe 45 mins during the day, this is usually 4 or five times a day.

The problems I am having are: getting her to nap without being nursed, her morning nap she does great, she starts rubbing eyes and I move her into quiet room and she gets herself off no problem but I can't get this at other naps.

Also bed time, normally feed @ 445 play & small nap & nappy off time etc. take to bath about 6 for 1/2 hr, then dress massage etc and feed, she will sleep for bout 5/10 mins then wake screaming.

What do I do if I miss the window, do I. Bring her back out of room and let her play, wait til she shows signs & try again,  once she gets off to sleep she sleeps sound, I waken at 11pm & she sleeps until 6/7 am.

She's a very good baby and I hate her getting upset @ bedtime.

Thanks in advance  :)

How long is your A time at the moment? It sounds like you might need more for the second nap so that she goes off easier... Do you want to post up your EASY for the day and we can see if it needs a bit of a tweak?

She's a very good baby and I hate her getting upset @ bedtime.

Sounds like she has a lovely mumma! :-*

Thanks for reply.  Our day goes a little something like this.....

Waken @ 7am, feed, her daddy plays with her before work, he leaves about 8, I put her in chair and she watches me potter about for a bit and is normally sleeping by 8.20 at latest.

Awake 915 I get her dressed, maybe go for walk or play, she has another nap.

Feed 1015 from here on its not as set in stone I think because we are normally out & about but she would normally have two naps between feeds and play time or kicking about in pram.

Feed 130 play snooze

Feed 445 play, sleep not for long, maybe 20mins.  Nappy off time and then bath. Normally 6 ish. Then jammies and bed........and que crying baby :(

So are all of your naps just less than an hour? are some longer? What time is bed time- 6.30? I'm wondering if the stretch to bed time after the 20 minute nap might be too long for her? does she seem over tired?

Yeah naps usually less than hour although last two days she has napped 815-945am that's longest all day. Bedtime was 7pm but I've changed & encouraged another nap about 530 or so bed time about 730
