How to introduce a lovely to a 4 month old??
« on: January 20, 2013, 06:15:23 am »
Hi everyone,

I have a 4 month old DD and Iam wanting to introduce a lovely for her to sleep with. She is starting to self-soothe and 7 out of 10 times will go to sleep on her own. I was wondering how I go about introducing one?
She has had one from a newborn that I placed at the side of the cot, but it was just for my scent then.

Thanks

For my DS, I slept with the lovie so it wold have my scent on it and then I gve it to him to sleep with.  He started to rub the edge of it to self sooth.  For my dd, she plays with hers on the playmat and when she's sitting in her chair.

Thanks for that.

I will start to let her play with it, she doesn't have quite the hand control yet to rub it or hold it, but I would like to introduce it to her.

If your bf stick it between you and her when feeding too, esp at BT ;)

Following along... I also wonder about how to introduce a love when LO has a dummy? Do you start to introduce a lovie when you wean the swaddle?

i already have a mussie that I put with T all the time when settling. I put it over his eyes, and with him to snuggle with when on his bed and I'm changing his nappy. Same thing with a taggy...for Z I just had the taggy stall settling times and duringsleep. I would also put it up close To his hands or faces hen teaching independent sleep (around 4 mths for him) and at NW encourage him to touch it, cuddle it etc.
