For me, it would depend on whether you're interpreting her cues as hunger or tired.  Thirst is definitely possible too.  I think Tracy was generally practising in a more temperate climate (the UK is certainly nowhere near as hot as Puerto Rico, even in the summer) and you'd need to have the flexibility to add in feeds here and there to deal with thirst.

If you were EBF, I'd definitely say try for a 3.5h EASY to see if that makes some difference to you and try to fit it in around A times and naps.

When it was really hot here and DS was thirsty, I did a second top up feed about 45min after the first feed which meant he was getting a true top up and still getting 3hr between feeds so he wasn't snacking. That worked ok for us. Keep in mind that your body is an amazing thing and actually changes your milk to suit baby's needs, so your milk gets more watery in hotter months to combat thirst.

Interesting things to consider...
I am not exclusively BF because I assumed I was not producing enough, especially because of her drinking a full bottle a while later after nursing. We get a solid 12-14 hour sleep and only dream feed at around 1030pm. I'm now worried that if I try to only BF we will start getting night wakings, does that make sense?
Makes me question my nursing but at the same time I don't know how to work on the winding down, naps, 3.5/4 hr EAS and the feeding at the same time.

Yup, totally get it.  If you're getting good night sleep, you don't want to fix what isn't broken.
What about trying what Bec just suggested, but instead of offering a top up BF, offer the bottle instead?  Do you think that could work?

I believe we can do that. Lets say I nurse her at 7 and then top her up at 745? Or 45 minutes after she finishes nursing?

How long does she take to nurse? I would have done 7 and 7:45 but that was with DS who took a full feed in 5-10min max. If she takes a hole to feed, you could do 7 and 8 then 11 and 12...
