Hi All,
My 9.5 mo DS was a great sleeper for about 3 weeks. We got into a great pattern of good daytime naps and he's sleep at night for 12-13 hours straight. It was glorious. However, he is suddenly back to waking once a night and/or waking early, and I'm not sure why. He'll take a 4 oz bottle when he wakes at night, so I've tried making him bigger bottles during the day but he won't drink any more during the day. I'm thinking he may need an increase in A time or shorter naps during the day or more A time before BT... let me know what you think. Here was our routine yesterday:
BT/S 8pm (this was a bit late for us, but he had taken an afternoon nap that lasted until 5:30pm)
WU 5:30 am - 4oz bottle
S 6 - 8:20am
E 8:30, nurse
A
E 9:30, fruit
A
E 10:45, 6 oz bottle
S 11:30 - 1pm (I woke him up at this point)
A
E 1:30pm, oatmeal + other solids
A
E 3:30pm 6oz bottle
S 4 - 5pm
A
E 5:30, veggie, cereal
A
E 7:15pm, 8 oz bottle
BT/S 7:30pm
WU 10:30pm -- he cried/fussed for a few min but managed to get himself back to sleep
S
WU 5:30 -- he fussed for half an hour before all out crying
E 6am, nurse, then back to bed
S ... it is now 7am and I think he just fell back to sleep
What do you think? He would routinely sleep in til 8am when he was STTN, then take a long nap around 11 and a short nap around 3:30. If I start extending his A times more, that pushes his last nap pretty late. I could start waking him earlier in the morning or pushing his BT later to get more waking hours. I think he is also teething, but medicating before bed doesn't seem to help with the EW. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
