7 month old crazy night wakings!
« on: February 05, 2013, 01:50:28 am »
My 7 month old recently started crawling and standing in his crib! Now he wakes at night, sits up and cries. He then stands up and can't get down. He's waking maybe 3-4 times a night where before it was once. Why is he waking up in the first place?! Anyone have suggestions on preventing DS from tipping back and hitting head in crib? He's off balance and falls over alot from sitting position and hurts himself.
During the day, naps in afternoon esp are exhausting! He doesn't settle, crawls around and sits and cries. I have to forcefully hold him down while patting but he still wiggles to get up. Any help is very appreciated!!!

Hugs to you!!! As far as I know when they learn something new it is very common for sleep to be disturbed for a little while as suddenly they need to practice, practice, practice! My older two did this when they learnt to stand up as well. They also did it when they learnt how to roll over. When my LO learnt to roll over she would roll onto her stomach and then cry because she hated it on her stomach but didn't know how to roll back over. Thankfully it passes as they learn to then sit back down on their own and then lay back down. Don't really have any suggestions about how to prevent him from falling other then let him practice as much during the day as you can and then he will learn quicker how to do it in his crib.

Totally agree with PP -- and can you post your schedule -- you may need an A time increase.
