6 month old early waker

Typical EASY

Wake 6
E 6:30
S 8:15-9:30
E 10
S 12-1:30
E 2
S 4:30-5
E 5:30-6
Bed 7

The above is pretty typical give or take 1/2 hour here or there.  He goes to bed like a champ, we walk around the house and turn off lights and say good night to the rooms, good night to dad and the dog and then He goes into his crib and talks for a minute or plays with his binky and goes right to sleep.  Naps are pretty good too as far as him going to sleep.  We usually humm a few songs while I'm swaying with him in my arms and when he starts to "blink longer" I put him in his crib and he rolls over and goes to sleep.

He is teething and I have a feeling that he is getting multiple teeth at the same time.  Nothing has pushed through yet but he is definitely in pain in his mouth and has swollen gums.  We do medicate with Tylenol/Motrin/teething gel when needed.

I do also think that currently he is in a growth spurt ( He had a 6 oz bottle yesterday of BM then 2 hours later had a FULL feeding on the breast which is totally not typical for him.  Usually E is every 3.5-4 hours)  Oh and we have introduced him to solids.  I have only been feeding him lunch and dinner lately because he was pooping right in the middle of his morning nap!  He started showing interest in solids when he was about 4 months actually and has done really well with them. He sits up well by himself, walks while holding onto our fingers, and is just getting the hang of pushing up onto his knees when he is on his tummy.

He used to wake up between 4:45-5 and we have slowly but surely gotten it to 6.  Some mornings he wakes at 5:50 but stays in his crib till 6 then we do the dramatic wake up.  I don't do a dream feed but he does to a NF  between 1-2 and it's usually a full feeding.  He has been CONSISTENTLY pooping right around 6am or a bit before.  Lol, I have a feeling that if he didn't poop, he might sleep longer :)

He doesn't take CONSISTENTLY 1.5-2 hour naps.  Many times they are just an hour but he wakes up happy not grouchy (most of the time).  If he does wake up grouchy we usually know he is still tired and try to put him back down.

I suppose my questions are:
1.) is 6am still considered normal for a wake up time? Should I work him in 15 minutes increments to increase it as close to 7 as possible? ( I am SOOO excited for daylight savings time because then the clock will read 7am when it was really 6am!)
2.) if he does wake up from a nap early and just will not go back down, 30 minutes after he wakes up is the LONGEST I should wait after he wakes to feed him, correct?

Thanks for your time ladies :D

Sounds like you and I have the same problem :). I just got this answer and it looks like this might help you as well :).

Hi hon- Th happy waking at 4.30 sounds like the start of the 3-2 nap transition that you would start with increasing the a time. They wake at that time as they are not tired enough to stay asleep!! HAve a read of this:

All about the 3-2 transition- 5/6 months

Thanks Hester!  Yes it very much sounds like the 3-2 transition - for a baby of six months still on three naps, an 11h night is pretty much all that can be expected.  Have a look at the link and then let us know if you have any more questions :)

Re feeds - I've never heard the 'wait a max of 30 mins after waking to feed' rule.  I would just keep the feeds roughly 4h apart (that will increase to more like 4-4.5h as you move to two naps) with solids an hour after milk.
