7 week old not settling in evening
« on: January 31, 2013, 13:32:39 pm »
not sure how to repost it ;) but she basically has a typical schedule- feeds every 3hrs, A time of 1 hr and then naps for 2 hrs until next feed. the late afternoon cat nap is when is goes downhill. shell sleep 5-5:30 but i cannot get her back to sleep after for another cat nap- sometime i can get a short nap until her bedtime feed at around 8, but usually not so easy. then i hold her from 8 pm until after dreamfeed usually.

(((Hugs))), the early weeks are hard and evening unsettledness often peaks around week 8.  For many it's a case of riding it out until things settle down a bit, usually around week 12.

At 7 weeks an average A time is getting on towards 1h15. You could try just adding five mins at a time and holding for a few days to see how she goes.  Are her nights ok at the moment?

today i waited to the hour mark and then i started the winding down process for her naps. so she was asleep after 1hr 10 min A time instead of an hr and she slept so soundly for her nap. finally!! the night there was still some overtired crying, but she was asleep by 8:30, which is major improvement! im writing this with both my hands! (but she is in a swing ;) ) so we will see how it goes
