Hi there.
So, just wondering what you ladies (and gents) might suggest.
My little just turned 10 months yesterday, and also just figured out how to roll over and sit up and crawl around in her crib in her sleep sack. Now that she can do that, of course she likes to do it while falling asleep, and even in her sleep (or likely during a sleep transition) and then gets stuck sitting up!
So, the last 4 days or so, during her pm nap, she's been waking at almost exactly the 45min mark, sitting up and crying really hard. I tried today to push the nap to start a bit later, because I thought maybe UT .... I have been going it straight away, because it's really not like her to be crying so hard, so thought maybe she got a limb stuck or something .... So I replug her (because apparently she can't figure out to do that AND be stuck sitting up! haha) and lay her back down. Only once did she actually go back to sleep; the other times, she's in and out for the next 20min at least, so I just get her up.
Our sleeping routine right now is:
wake 630am (half the time she's already awake)
nap #1 @ 930am; I wake her at 1030 (I have a 3 year old, and we want to get out of the house before lunch time and quiet/nap time for the older one)
nap #2 @ 130pm until whenever she wakes, but no later than 330/4, depending on when she actually falls asleep; she sometimes takes about 15min to fall asleep, but she's happy
bedtime and sleeping by 7pm, or just shorly after
I am very tempted to push for 1 nap only, but I think it's still a touch early. With my older one, I remember cutting the morning nap shorter and shorter and moving the pm nap up a bit earlier when adjusted to the A time, so that I was eventually left with a whopper of a mid-day nap (and with an early wake up of 6am with her, nap usually was around 1130-230).
Any thoughts suggestions? Is this EW from pm nap due to UT, or due to her new skill? Maybe wait another week or so and see? Night time sleep isn't suffering at all (touch wood!) so that's not the issue.
Thanks!!!!
