Give him just one or two tiny bites of food on his tray and don't add more until he's eaten them. If he's just playing and not eating, he's probably not hungry any more. Don't scold or react (beyond 'oh, I see you are done eating, let's clear up') because mummy's reaction is probably even more fun than learning about gravity!
