How to wean my 1 year old gently
« on: March 31, 2013, 15:58:20 pm »
Hi- what would the most gentle way of weaning my one year old be? I'm ok with going slow.. I'm fine with still doing the morning and night feeds.. just really ready to stop the middle of the day feeds! My son does not eat much during the day, he nurses more out of habit and gets easily bored and has begun biting etc. Does the baby whisperer have any weaning methods? i find her approach so gentle and fair for both mom and baby, I'd love to hear step by step instructions on weaning! Ive been trying to just focus more on solids during the day, and do the solids before the nursing. When Ive tried to just omit the breastfeeding session, my baby will refuse his nap until he gets the feed. Does this mean he's not ready? Thank you all in advance!

Have you seen our FAQ on weaning? Weaning

Have a look and let us know if you have any more questions.

Does your DS go to sleep independently or on the breast usually?

He's been on EASY since 2 months. He goes to sleep independently, for bed and for naps, but still wakes once for a feed and I cant figure out if its hunger or habit. I will go check the thread- THank you for posting it!
