I'm more concerned with the Naps that's what I'm asking about. Why would a lo nap just fine after a certain A then 2 days in a row nap 1hr 15min? I did apop those naps, I just can't apop the AM wakeup. He's up and happy and I'm not going to force him back to sleep after a 10hr night.

You know what we were talking about before in terms of throwing in very occassional 2 naps days to allow him to catch up as you feel that EBTs are a no go? This would have been a classic example of when I would have done it. 1:15 naps waking crying and bedtime creeping earlier again suggests OT creeping back in. I know you said you couldn't apop the catnap but would you be able to do it if the catnap was in the morning? Pm catnaps never worked for us so we did it the other way around, so am 30min capped then 3.5 later a long pm (only on catch up days though!). However, I appreciate what people have said regarding confusing him and that's something to bear in mind just trying to give you options to think about. Are you sure you don't want to try again with EBT and see if he gives you a different response. Like I said our guy didn't tack until the 2-1 so it might be worth another go? Hugs, we found 2-1 reeeally difficult! It will end honestly!

Thanks but I've been doing CN last 3 days because of the shorter naps. I can put him down for short CN in the AM. I put him down after 3hrs 15min and he slept 1hr 15min. We had to go to a parade today during his normal nap time. So now putting him down 4hr A and we'll see what we get. He leaves with DH for a week on wednesady so I'm not going to fix it now anyway. We'll just need to wing it while on vacation.

Is the 1hr15 nap your CN? Because to me this is nearly a full nap. It may be that after this, there's no chance of another nap. I would wake after 30ish mins if you're trying for a CN. I neer did am CN though but we always did long morning nap (trying for at least 1.5hrs but rarely achieving it) & then Cn of30 mins ish in the afternoon. Doing it the other way round is a way of putting them down for sleep whe they are UT and giving a little nap so theLO is tired still, at least enough to takea full nap a little later in the day. Perhaps your morning nap is still a little long to e so early? What do you think?

Oh ok, I think I understand.

Hugs, this time is really tough. I remember feeling like it would never end but we sort of just decided not to worry in the end and just went with whatever happened and tried not to worry about how much she was napping. Eventually she sorted herself out and settled better into one nap. Having said that we still have days of good naps and many days of short naps - but she copes ok now she's a bit older.

I'm not saying there's no "solution" as such, but so try not to worry, it won't make things any better and from experience I know it'll be making it worse for you.

I know you are right. I just feel awful when hes so tired. I wish i had more of a go with the flow personality. But he let me apop this morning and took a 2.5hr nap so yay for that.

Yay!

I know what you mean - I'm the opposite of "go with the flow" but once DD started nursery I found it easier as a few days a week I had no control at all about her naps so I've just had to accept it so I don't go crazy worrying about it. Hugs x

Yeah, he leaves with DH for a week to see his parents tomorrow, and I can't go so i am so worried, but I know his family doesnt respect my routine wishes and god love him but my DH has no backbone, so I've rfealized I'm going to have a mess when they get back but there is nothing I can do so I am just going to let it go as much as I can anyway. :)

So he woke at 5am yesterday I rocked him back to like 5:45. He slept two 30min naps on the plan. He would have slept longer but the woman in front of him twice lowered her seat bumping his carseat. argh.. Oh well. Then slept from 7-6:30 with no NW go figure. :) He's also started walking.. :) Such a big boy now.

Massive development like learning to walk can really affect sleep. We had dodgy nights for a while before E mastered walking. Hopefully as he grows in confidence inhis ability he'll sleep better again.

Perhaps the STTN was because he was actually tired after two short naps. Perhaps he's not as generally OT as you fear and actually could really really do with pushing to one nap now. What do you think?

Yeah luckily it's just been EW so no NW's thank goodness. In the past 3 days he has gone from walking 2-3 steps to cruising across the room. I am so amazed. And he's chattering a lot more. He was always quiet. Not anymore. :) I think that may have something to do with it. I plan on going to one nap when he gets back next week from vacation with DH. Should I try set or just go by A times?

I would see what he's doing when he gets back and then decide, based on how big a leap it'll be.
