When to have the next nap after a short nap in a pram (or car etc)
« on: September 24, 2013, 09:31:02 am »
Hi,

My son is currently on a 2.5 hour A time, during this time I often take him for a walk in his pram. However, he often falls asleep while we're on the go. Generally as soon as I spot him asleep I wake him up as more than likely as soon as we got home he'll wake up (so generally wont get a full sleep cycle), throwing out our naps for the rest of the day.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to proceed with the rest of the day after a short sleep in a pram, car etc? I'm sure that a further 2.5 hours awake time post him waking up would be way too much...  ??? ???

Thanks in advance!

You are right!  Iiwm I would either stay out long enough that he gets to sleep a decent nap, or reduce the next A time depending how long he slept.  Is he around 6 months old (just guessing by the 2.5hrs?) With my DD I found that if she slept 45mins or more she could manage a full A time even though it was a short nap.  But less than 45mins and I would pull the next A time right back.  HTH
