Help changing AESY to EASY
« on: August 12, 2013, 14:17:38 pm »
HI all, I've posted a while back here regarding the same issue but not sure how to find that post that's why I'm posting again.
We are having problem to have E after S. my little one preferres/is used to having E before S. sometimes she falls asleep on my breast but then I gently wake her up and burp and then place her in a crib so the breast is not a prop. I've tried feeding right after S, tried 30 min, 1 hr into A but she only sucks for few min and then wants to look around( very distracted). it is also hard to feed her when we are out for the same reason).I've taken her in quiet dark room but no change. She is used to being swaddled and eat with a quiet music and then S.
it becomes harder to read her signs that way too because I'm not sure if she is hungry or tired or both. Do you have any suggestions on how to go from AESY to EASY
thanks

Hi thanks for the reply but I think you misunderstood me. Our problem is not really falling asleep on the breast but just eating before S. she got used to eating swaddled and in the dark so I think that's the issue here. She can fall asleep on her own in a crib.
Thank you :)

Ah Yes sorry i did misunderstand. In that case what about feeding in the dark room but before you swaddle and then gradually extending the time between feed and sleep and have the room lighter and lighter by a little more each day or every few days until LO is happy to feed unsalted in the light and then increase the time between the feed and sleep by bringing the feed 10 minds earlier every few days?

I kind of tried that but she cries and trying to escape when I feed unswaddled. But I will try again and will try to make the room lighter a bit by bit. Thanks will see how that goes :)

What about gradually loosening the swaddle at the same time so she gets more used to being "free" whilst feeding?
