Hi
I'm totally feeling like all the hard work sleep training I did when DS was little has gone down the pan! I'm hoping this is 18 SR as if it's not I'm going just run away!

Not getting nap refusal or BT refusal anymore that's stopped after 4-5 weeks of crap naps and BT tears but we have NW and they can be anytime 11pm or 2am are the fave slots and they can last for an hour or 2. Then since clock change we gone from 4.30 WU to 5/5.39 WU and he will not go back to sleep! I've resorted to apop but rocking doesn't work now plus he's heavy lol! Tried sitting next to cot with hand in then no speaking but he just can't seem to nod back off!

I know he's OT but he does handle it well, naps at nursery are 1-1.30 at best but that's a massive improvement on the 30 mins it used to be!

Eas was WU
6.
Nap 11.30/12 for 1.5/2 hours
BT 7

We've ended up with him in our bed a few times as both work and need sleep! But now I'm worried all the apop is ruining nights or whether the SR is just starting properly and the last 6 weeks was developmental :-(

Following Hv appointment today she suggested day sleep at 2 hours is too long and to cap at 1.5 but not sure I agree!?

IMO health visitors do not tend to give the best advice wrt sleep but that might just be my experience...his routine does not look too bad to me tbh. If you suspect OT then you could try a 6.30pm BT for one night to see if that helps...
Any teeth coming through? Long NWings for us have always been discomfort...

I agree tbh about Hv they told a friend of mine to not let a 6 month old have more than 30 mins sleep a day to combat Nw!!!
I thought canines were on the way as that's all that's left apart from 2 yr molars but I can't see any sign but drooling more!
Just worried I'm ruining all ST but last night we sat next to cot at 11pm WU and he went back in 20 mins and then at 4.15am I just laid next to cot that took over an hour! Just kept sucking his fingers then popping head up like couldn't settle! Didn't think OT as had good 2 hour nap and decent BT!

We've been struggling for a few weeks now with NW :-(

we have had  a couple of patches like that and for us they were SA brought on by discomfort but you are also could be hitting that lovely 18 month regression :(
I would consider pushing the nap back to more like 12pm if you can - EWings can be due to the nap starting too early in the day x

Thanks I'll push nap as daycare nap is always after 12 so think I'll stick with 12 nap 7 BT.
I think its SA and the sleep regression hitting, he's been such a good sleeper I'm trying to keep consistent but it feels never ending!
Have given meds tonight just in case even though happy x

Canines are brutal. We only have one left to go here but it's still giving trouble. The 18mo SR is hard work… just stay as consistent as you can and you WILL come out the other side!
