Can't seem to keep 14 week old up for more than 1 hour?
« on: October 25, 2013, 23:03:43 pm »
Hello all,
My 14 week old son seems to get sleepy right at or before the 1 hour mark for his awake time. Extending by even five or ten mins seems to result in OT behavior--super fussy even screaming and then really hard to get down. Here is his EASY (he's breastfed with the exception of two bottles at end of day/dreamfeed):

6 or 7 am wake time, if early I try to wait till 7 to feed and then he's down 1 hour or 1.25/1.5 hours later
45 minute nap monster strikes EVERY. SINGLE. NAP. -- pacifier or rock and he's back down for another 45/1 hr
10 am feed, activity, sleep at 11 then same as above
1 pm feed, activity sleep at 2 and same...about two 45 min naps
4 pm feed, activity, sleep at 5
6 pm feed, bath and awake time, try to keep him up till 7 pm then a big ol' bottle to tank up, then right down at 7
SOMETIMES a dreamfeed at 10:30 pm (depends on how asleep he is; sometimes he wakes up for it--big ol' bottle for this too)
Wakes between 2-4 for feed; if earlier, I feed again at 5 and then hope for sleep till 7....

I can't even imagine getting him to the 4 hour schedule! Any tips? Like I said, even adding a few mins seem to send him over the edge. Additionally, he requires tight swaddling and even a little "nap cap"--hat that shields out stimulation!! and a totally dark room....

Thank you in advance!
