"A" time is long, but still not taking good nap
« on: October 15, 2013, 03:42:38 am »
Hey there!  So my little man is 13 months. He's been transitioning to 1 nap for monthsssss. I know he has to stay up a bit longer in the morning, and I am watching his clues but he doesn't seem to be tired when he "should". This is what it's been like the last few days:

730 wake
130 nap -- at most an hour and a half!
Bedtime is As early as needed.

He sleeps thru the night. He has been an amazing sleeper and goes down super easy. Is this like the toddler version of overtired? Should he go for nap earlier??! Please help!

My son is 25 mos and since going to one nap around 15 mos, he rarely ever sleeps for two hours. It's usually an hour 15 mins-an hour 30-40 mins. I've finally realized that's his normal. He sleeps thru the night for about 11 hours.

I agree with Jenn1975 - they are all different. If your LO was OT I think you'd struggle to get him to STTN or not EW. My advice, if it ain't broke...

Have a look at the link below, it might offer you some reassurance to see how different the day can be for Los of the same age....

What does your toddlers day look like?

My DD is also 13 months and has been transitioning for months as well. Her day looks like this:
wu 6:45/7
nap 12:30/1-2/2:30
bed 7

Her nap is almost always 1.5 hours or sometimes 1.25. She sttn for the most part for 11.5-12 hours so I think a short nap is all we will get from her.
