LSN baby 11 mth on one nap, how long should nap be?
« on: November 23, 2013, 05:24:38 am »
Hi my bb is a LSN baby n just turned 11 mths. She just started on one nap because 2 naps causing EW and short night n she is also refusing pm nap. One nap has stop early wakes and in total getting 13.5 hr sleep rather than 12 hr sleep a day.
I am just wondering how long should one nap be given she is a LSN baby? I am having night wakes maybe due to teething or undertired nap/bedtime

Wu 0630
Nap 1105-1340 ( woke up half way, but whine for 2 mins then slept again) had to wake her up before I want to but her to bed early as I have a party to go to.
Bedtime put down 1810 but didn't sleep till 1830.
NW  2300 rolled around in bed sucking n chewing her cloth for 40 mins then crying out for me .. Maybe teething pain gave her some meds and didn't settle till 0130.
Wu 0730 haven't had such late wake up before!!,

She is definitely teething as her lateral incisors both are popping out soon. Just abt see them.
She hardly ever had night wake apart from sick or teething, STTN since 6 weeks.
I am thinking is she undertired because too so long for her to go to sleep at bedtime n rolling in bed at time for 40 mins before crying.
Also she is very active n happy baby. No whiny or throwing tantrums very happy during the day until I put her down to sleep. Self settle n sleep..

What are your thoughts?  I thinking limiting her nap to max 2 hr?

I'll be following along with this cos I've been wondering the same thing, but at the moment I find that Jack can have 2 hrs - 2hrs 15 a day on a 2 nap day without it affecting his night sleep but any more than that and it definitely does.  We haven't had that problem on one nap days since he's not slept more than 1.5 hours yet! But I've been wondering what to do if he ever makes the 2 hr mark!

I have another one hr night wake again.  :-[
Surely it has to be teething right.cant be overtired???
My easy yesterday

Bedtime put down at 1840. Didn't got to sleep till 1853.
Nw 0200 wake up rolling around whiny, gave meds at 0215 still cry n whiny then I pick her up rock n cuddle for 5 min then to her down. Didn't go to sleep till 3am.
Wake up at 0700.

What is wrong with my baby???  Is it overtired ? But is so happy during the day n wake up happy no crying or any tired signs....
What am I doing wrong?

Hmmm...my older two were both pretty average sleep needs and went to one nap at 10/11 months. I know DD2 did 3 hour naps...her day was A time of 4.5h, nap 3h, A 4.5h, 12h night. DD1 I dont remember exactly but I think her naps were over 2h, maybe 2.5? Not 3 I remember that much! She also had 12h nights.

I would saybif anything the A to bed is long for that short of a nap but so hard to tell with teething in the mix. My kids never gave much tired signs past 4/5 months!!!

Hi hun,

I posted on your thread in the NW board. We also went down to 1 nap at around 11 months but then had to go back to 2 because my LO couldn't handle it and clearly needed 2 and so we settled on 2 naps with 1 nap thrown in until she could handle more A.

Once we were on 1 nap, it was somewhere around 1.5-2hr long.
