Will naps get longer the more I extend wake time?
« on: July 24, 2014, 14:28:33 pm »
Hi,

I've started to lengthen my babys A times which has improved the length of his naps already. He's 6 months currently and were now at 2hrs and 45/ 50 mins A time. His naps have increase to about 1hr 15m but he's now pretty much at the average A time for his age - should I keep going past 3hrs to get a 2hr nap or should I stop? He doesn't do tired signs so the only way of knowing if I've gone to far is if he sleeps for less than half an hour as I assume that means OT?!

Thanks

You may never get a 2h nap....DD did about three of those ever before we were on one nap!  1.5h or more is plenty for some LOs :). But if you're getting a consistent 1h15 it may be worth a push as for many that's an UT length nap.
