How later should the nap get before you drop it?

So our sons nap is now starting at 2:30 pm. He won't fall asleep before then. It's been about a week of this time now. He's 2.5.

His BT is now 9pm and asleep at 9:20. This is absolutely the latest im willing to go.
Should we stop giving the nap? Does it seem like its time? Or just start doing regular NNDs?

That was about the latest we got before we went to nnd. One a week at first!

How long is his nap and what time is WU?

I'd look at how long the nap is and how much sleep does it take from the night sleep. If his total sleep is getting low then it might be worth dropping it.

I know with DS1 we only got 12hrs in total with a nap. That was whether it was a 30 min nap and 11.5hr night or a 2hr nap and a 10hr night. When we consistently dropped the nap at 30mo he started doing 13.5hr nights and getting much more total sleep. It had to be consistent though. If we just did a few NNDs here and there he just did a 12hr night.

I've been capping it at about an hour 15 min. More than that and it's just way too late. He's usually up by 3:30-3:45. Then I put him down for bed between 8:45-9. It takes him about 20 min to fall asleep. He gets between 11.5-12 hours in 24.

I just don't know if I should cut it out totally, or really stick to one or two NNDs a week?

I would start with 1-2 NND's a week first or cap the nap further. DD is 34 months and we do a 1 hour nap a day x

What is your preference? No nap or short nap and late BT? You could probably do either tbh.

My guy took 11hrs total in 24 - that's the point that we started dropping it. Totally his idea though! He is pretty low sleep needs.

My daughter is the same age and we are alternating nap and no nap days. Only a week in but so far it is working good. So her routine is like this

No nap:
7.15am (ish) awake
6.30pm asleep

Nap:
7.15am (ish) awake
1-3pm nap
7.30pm asleep
