Refusing milk
« on: April 09, 2014, 19:20:23 pm »
DS is 8.5 months, he just got over a cold when he refused all solids and increased milk to about every 2 - 3 hours.  However, last night he woke several times but refused milk.  He had a small feed at 6:30am today after he woke up but he has since refused milk every time I've offered including bedtime.  He is exclusively breastfed and refuses a bottle (I've given up trying to get him to accept one and working on him accepting a sippy cup instead)

I've expressed enough to relieve them (they've become so painful!) but don't want to express too much then he decided he wants to feed.  However, I'm worried that if this continues tomorrow my milk supply will slow down and take a while to increase again?

Has anyone got any recommendations or thoughts as to why he might be refusing the milk?

Sorry to hear you are gong through this. Check out our FAQ on nursing strikes for ideas on the best way to get through it.
