6 month old-seperation anxiety - help
« on: April 16, 2014, 21:49:29 pm »
Up until 1 week ago my 6 month was sleeping from 830 pm to 4AM.  Waking up just once for a feeding.
This week she wakes up at 130 AM screaming.  We have tried CIO but she just lays there and screams for up to 30 min.

I cant do it any longer because I have to be up at 530 for work.  As soon as we pick her up and bring her in our bed, she dream feeds and sleeps until we wake her
at 630 am.

What should I do?  Should we hold out and let her cry for a few nights.  FYI, I get no sleep with her in our bed.  So bed sharing is not a good solution for us

Please help

Hi there. PLease don't leave your LO to CIO. Tracy Hogg, The Baby Whisperer, felt strongly that leaving your child to cry with any of the popular ( unfortunately!) CC and CIO "methods" broke the bond of trust between Mother and child. And, it teaches your child absolutely nothing! Have a look here if you like: Cry it out (CIO): 10 reasons why it is not for us
This is all doubly important if your LO is going through SA.
OK, that all said, there is a growth spurt at 6 months that could be affecting her night sleep. Have you tried feeding her right away and see what happens? It could also be a change in her sleep and A time needs. Could you post what a "typical" day looks like in terms of when she wakes, naps, wakes, naps, wakes again and then bedtime? Hope this helps, keep us posted!
