Set bedtime without set naps?
« on: May 03, 2014, 17:49:00 pm »
Is it possible & OK to follow A times/tiredness cues for naps but have a set BT, or should a set BT only be done with set naps? DS is 13mo, going through the 2-1 and spends 3 days a week at home, 2 at nursery & 2 with his grandma & does different routines in each of these places.  I've been trying to adjust BT depending on his day but I'm finding it hard to constantly be guessing bedtime & wondered about setting a time of 7pm (6.30 if a really bad nap day or if only 1 nap that was short/finished before 1) Is it ok to do this without set naps?

Hi!

I always work on a half hour window. So R's BT is usually 7pm but where the nap is short or for some other reason she's tired I will put to bed anywhere bewtween 6.30 and 7pm. Have a look at this link, it may elp

Thanks. I like the idea of set naps & BT & tried to start doing that but my mum & nursery won't stick to them.
I will stick with the 6.30-7 BT though - 7 whenever possible as I think too many earlier bedtimes are giving us EWs.
