20 month old nap refusal
« on: May 14, 2014, 16:43:23 pm »
Hi ladies,

I'm at my wits end - for around 2 months now my 20 month old refuses to fall asleep for his nap which he'd always done fine on his own since around 5 months.

He has a bunny that he cannot sleep without but as soon as I leave the room he just throws it on the floor and cries. I tried walk in walk out (with no real willing to be honest) but all that happens is as soon as I walk out he throws the bunny on the floor and cries. This could go on for for ever until I resort to something else.

I'm weaving a whole load of bad habits and now it's just getting harder and harder. I camt even get him to go to sleep in my arms anymore, then he just throws the bunny as well. I usually resort to going out in the car and he will fall asleep within a few minutes. I reasoned with myself that it's ok because if we were to go it he would fall asleep there anyway! But I need a plan to stick to to get through this.

He literally changed over night by the way - one day he was a good sleeper and the next day he just straight up refused so i think it was developmental. Bed times changed too but then he will go to sleep in his bed if he thinks I'm still there near him.

Are there any methods that could help this? Has any one gone through the same thing wi a comforter? Thanks in advance

Can you please post his routine, before the trouble and now when your trying to pd for the nap.
Are you doing EBT on NND

The throwing the lovey thing is what my boys did during developmental periods and when UT :-\
