Quick question on blown up nap and DD's anti-EBT agenda
« on: May 14, 2014, 18:40:04 pm »
OH blast. I have a hysterical girl who REFUSES to go back to sleep after her lovely 30 minute nap. It is 2:30 and she usually goes to bed. Whenever we have had this nonsense for whatever reason, we have tried EBT, but she will babble or SCREAM up to her usual BT of 8! Thoughts or hugs for this afternoon are so very welcome! Sheesh, she is making herself sick down in her crib, going to get her up and try not to stress out.  :'(

Oh Ivy! Every time I read a post about her sleep I chuckle that our sleep twinsises are still at it all these months later! What are her nights like? Is she sttn and getting a decent night? She could be self capping her nap and thus still needs a full day after it if her night is 12 hours? Our little sleep mysteries! Hugs Momma. Just go with the flow. Lol, easier said than done! xx

Megan has always been like that. She has the most powerful body clock of any human  ;). She was never one for my adjusting her A times - she just wanted to follow the clock  ::).

Very low key helps me. Early dinner so she isn't too tired to eat (or so tired she flings it at me!!). And a nice very long bath. Megan will stay in for 45 mins singing and floating about if I let her. I sometimes use a bit of TV to get some supper in her if it is really awful, then put her down 20 mins early as that is all she will do anyway.

Thanks so much Mamas!Liz good idea, it is oddly comforting to know there are more tots like Ivy, especially with the crazy body clock! :)  I will give her her own bath, maybe bubbles, and try to go low key as much as possible with big, loving brother around! jcsmom, she usually goes for about an hour so the nap is shrinking. She does like her long nights, I need to question DH bout when they got up this morning... I saw Chloe has a thread again, been meaning to take a look. It is always something!

Happy, quiet bubble bath, favorite pajamas, calm brother and in bed at 7:30. Asleep at 8:01. Seriously Ivy? 5.5A after 30 minute nap!

Send sleepy vibes please! DH gets home in 2 hours and she seems to settle better for him, so if it does blow up she will have his calm presence to help her out.

Liz, when you and Megan went through 1-0 did you keep offering EBT if "needed" or just go with the low key "BT as close to normal as possible route?" I really feel like if I had tried for any earlier she would have gone nuts and then that tends to make the rest of the night choppy! Thank you!

Just stuck with her bedtime really. And low key A. She just is too fixed on her times.

Megan will lie in if she is super tired, but she won't go to bed early. So she catches up at the other side.

I do find there is something magic about being in bed just before 7pm. She often goes to sleep faster if she doesn't cross the 7pm window. Something to do with going into OT zone I guess.

Megan dropped her nap overnight just after age 2  ::) ::). Just decided she had to stay up with Jacob and play  ::).

The little darling did nearly 13 hours! No NWs before DH came home and he said she slept well after he took over! Yesterday did 1 hour nap and then I had to wake her after an 11 hour night as she went to school with me as I had no one to watch her here. Thanks so much for checking on us, I am sure her nap is on its way out, hopefully 1 hour won't mess with our night too much. It surprises me from time to time that she is more resilient to OT than I would suspect. Until next time....:)
