Getting frustrated now!
« on: May 14, 2014, 18:57:19 pm »
We've been good sleep wise since the 2yr regression/shenanigans! But now at nearly 26months he's chattering away again at BT and WU are earlier :(
I'm so confused if he's HSN or LSN, as he's easily OT! Nap ATM is at 1-2:30 (I wake him) shall I move it later? Cap it? I know he's tired as BT tonight he was crying at 6:30 saying I'm sleepy mummy, and yet still chattering at 7:45 so not sure where to go with it.... Before when he was chattering away I put him to bed earlier to get his chattering out the way!! Not sure....

If it makes you feel any better we are in EXACTLY the same boat with my 20 month old. I think UT is causing OT at the moment and I am going mad with the bedtime mucking. I *think* she needs a full A after a nap of 1.25 or more. At least that what she is showing me.  I am going to start capping at an hour I think and see where that gets us. She was self capping after DST and we were getting NO mucking and almost 12 hour nights!

We had the same at 20 months and nailed it after capping from 2 to 1.5 ht nap, but I just don't think we'd need to cap again so soon!!! It's weird he's worse when his dad (works away a bit) is away, like he's waiting for him to go in and say night.... When I go up again, and say 'come on now go to sleep' etc he does..... I don't want to do later BT as he's gets so OT, so hard!!!!

And NW for past three nights.... I should say he's not been well, but NW is OT surely?

Hi!

Sorry your post has been missed  :-\

We had some sheangians around this age (27m for us) as did lists of other mummies with LOs the same age. For us it was... Yep you got it developmental! We then had the onset of molars which clearly wasnt helpful. The bad news is me and some others tried everything. In fact we tweaked within an inch of out lives, I certainly nearly drove myself mad and the (this is the good news but) poof it passed! It did take some time but it did pass. Can you post the last 3 days in EAS format so we can take a look and see if there is any tweaking that could be tried? (Oh and what you were doing in EAS before the shenanigans started).

Any sign of molars?

I am working today so will get back to you as soon as I have a chance

Hena x

Thanks hena!

Before this was wu 6:30 ( I'm with this-prefer 7 tho!)
Nap 1-2:30 capped
Bt 7 asleep between 7:30-8

Last three days have been a muddle as he was poorly so did really long 13hr night!!
So he had a few early nights coz of being so tired/poorly-I think this added to issues!!

Yest
Wu 5:45
Nap 1-2:45 (left him as seemed so tired)
Bt 6:45-asleep by 7:40 wu 5-wouldn't resettle :(

Day before
WU 6
Nap 1-2:30
BT 7 asleep by 8

Day before (poorly 39 temp)
WU 5:50
Nap 1-2:30
BT 6:45 asleep straight away

We had this around 22 months too and once we had slightly later WU nap needed capping-wondering if we need to do this again-but not sure re today-13hr day (usually what we do) would mean 6pm bt but will he do a 12hr night???

So I think he's still sick! Which is def adding to this!! Currently in bed coughing his little head off! :( he napped 1-2:30 as per and I put him down at 6:20-bit of a cry to bed (unusual) but now coughing loads. :( Hes had meds so I guess just need to ride it out xx

Sorry my love, it's been a loooooong day!! Oddly enough I was just looking at the post with your EAS fringe last few days

If he's sick I think you need to get through it and then re-look. That's not be copping out honest  :o I really don't think you'll be tweak and know what's working while he's poorly.

Do you want to check back in once he's well?

H

Thanks Hun, yes he's def still I'll! Tbh I though he was over it which was I posted, when he's suck it all goes to pot! That said yest he went down at 6:20 and hard to tell when asleep as was coughing so much! But was totally settles by 7:40ish and I think asleep before then just coughing lots-had a NW at 3am-but again coughing coughing loads (I guess meds had worn off by this point, he then woke at 6. Not ideal but I guess he had nearly 10.5-11hrs sleep so not to bad! Will keep going with nap at 1 (might push this back by 15mins?) and BT at 7 and see how we do! Thanks again xx

I would hon if he's tired. I do tray and stick roughly to the same frame work if Rs unwell just because it's easier to fathom where you are. That said, I would do nap 15m earlier and longer if needs be and BT up to 30m earlier

Sorry, my post was as clear as mud - when I say longer I meant just by 15m if he does oh for a nap 15m earlier. I usually don't do longer than this and compensate with an earlier BT if needs be. But if your LO is LSN that might not be the right approach for you.

Hope he's well soon xx
