My DS is 2 and a half and we've reduced his day time sleep down to an hour about 6 weeks ago. I've always had to wake him from his lunch time nap otherwise he'd sleep all day and not at all at during the night.
Anyway, he wakes really really really grumpy and it can take upwards of an hour to calm him. I've tried distraction, I've tried snacks, juice etc to raise blood sugar, I've tried TV, outdoors....pretty much all I can think of I've tried. I also have a 6mo so it's getting pretty difficult to pay attention to both.
I've also tried eliminating the sleep and putting him down for the night earlier but he falls asleep on the floor or wherever we are at about 4pm and nothing I can do can keep him awake.
His average day is 630am (ish) WU, 1-2pm nap, BT somewhere between 7 and 730.
Any other suggestions or directions to any links would be much appreciated.
