6.5 month old starting 4 hour easy and naps...help!
« on: June 03, 2014, 16:27:11 pm »
Hi Claire is 6.5 months old and we started solids one week ago.  This is both a nap and feeding question.  I am working on adjusting her awKe time which interferes with naps/ nursings.

Claire wakes at 6:15am where I nurse her
Breakfast ( cereal/ fruit) 7
Nap 9-10 ish
Nurse at 10:30 (which I slowly pushed from previous posts helped me)

**when do I. Nap now? Usually she would awake from nap at 10, I would nurse...play and nap 11:30 for 30 minutes catnap, nurse at 1 pm and nap 2/2:30 for an hour and half.

Now that I'm keeping Claire awake more do I skip catnap I through in to help her out...but now she has to be awake from 10-1:30 and soon 2 (3.5-4 hours) once I shift nap? Please help.  I thought naps are more like 10 and 1 pm?

Hi Clairemary, you have 2 options depending in what awake time you lo can bear and what naps she takes.

2 naps & catnap = around 4h of daytime sleep
E 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm
A 2h+
S 2 naps of 1,5h or 2h from 8ish till 10am and from 12ish till 2pm, catnap between 4&5pm

2 naps = around 3 hours of daytime sleep
E 6:00, 10:30, 3pm, 6pm
A 3h
S: 2x 1,5h nap: from 9 till 10:30 and from 1:30 till 3pm

Great...so When Claire wKes at 3 pm nap ( what she did today) I need to back up my bf time!  She currently bf at 6:15/6:30, 10:30, 1:15 ( I pushed to today) and I was planning on pushing to 4 to 4:30 and then pushing 6:30 to 7 as I have brought back that DF from 10 until 8 now to hopefully cancel it out.  I worry if I'm feeding Claire enough...and we just began solids last week now up to 2 x a day at breakfast and dinner.  What do u think? ( naps and feedings go hand in hand ). I'm liking your suggestion...because Claire isn't always interested inBF just used to the routine I suppose.  Any suggestions are helpful...

Also when would you put baby to bed at night?  I have been nursing at 6:30 in which she falls asleep and then wake up for dream feed at 8 pm. She sleeps all night.
