9 month old not want to nap
« on: June 18, 2014, 08:16:25 am »
early wakings sorted but now LO is refusing to go down for naps. I do her normal routine, but she starts crying as soon as put her in her cot. After some time I pick her up and try again later, but she starts crying on the way to her room which makes it impossible again as she cries even more once in the cot. So we struggle and then it is a time for her feeding and she ends up falling asleep as so exhausted that Im not able to keep her awake. Ive only just moved to two naps and Im sure she is not ready to transition to one yet.

What does her day look like? I am sure you are not ready for one nap but it may be that LO needs a short nap and a long nap.

I have just extended her first A to 3h45 after which she sleeps for 1h (rarely 1h15)to stop early wakings but Im still struggling with second as she refuses to go down at 3.30, 3,45. Suddenly she is waking up early again so one long and one short nap might not be enough.

I wonder if she is one of those LOs that is on the high side for A? 1 hour, typically, is a UT nap. What about trying another ! push to 4 hours and then AP a CN later in the day if she refuses her 2nd nap? What do you think? I would watch for that A after a CN to not go more than 3 hours or so.

Thanks, today was weird, she went for naps ok but I dont know if she had enough sleep.
I was trying to cap first nap as she woke up later than usually (5-6), but she did not go past 40 min in the second one.
6:25 wu ( she had 12 hours of sleep)
10:25 s
11:05 a
2:15 S
2:55 a
18;30 bd
19;30 wake up and screaming so AP unfortunately as desperate
20;30 asleep
Was she too tired all day or not tired enough as she slept for 12 hours at night, but then she woke up 1h after BT.
