Weaning 15 month old
« on: August 01, 2014, 20:11:02 pm »
I'm going to start weaning 15 month old.  I'm when I should offer milk.  Before naps? After naps? With meals?  Our schedule right now is

630 or 7 nurse
8 solids
Nap around 1030 or 11
1200 or 1230 nurse depending on wake time
1 solids
330 snack
4is catnap.
445 nurse
515 dinner
715 nurse then bed

I feel like is nursing sessions have become very close to his meals because he is slowly pushing his awake time and we are slowly transitioning to one nap.  I think it will be awhile longer before we are on one nap.  Any suggestions for a new feeding schedule for milk feeds would help. Also he's a picky eater with fruit and veggies, so any suggestions on good snacks to offer would help.  Thank you

At that age I would do milk as a drink with meals as after one year they need more of their nutrition to be from food than milk. I think we did have a sippy of milk closer to bedtime but separated by stories and teeth brushing that eventually became a drink of water instead.

At this age I would just replace with solids and offer milk as a drink.
