3 1/2 mo sleeping less in day
« on: September 14, 2014, 17:43:18 pm »
My 15-week-old has recently changed his sleep habits, which is a bit perplexing. I'm wondering if it's just a phase.

He used to need about 4 hours total of daytime sleep. He'd typically take either 4 short (45-min to an hour) naps or 3 short and one long nap, but the total sleep time remained fairly constant. For the past few days, however, he's gotten maybe 3 hrs of daytime sleep. He's been taking just 3 short naps, and his A time is much longer than it used to be. Sometimes he'll go more than 2 hours without showing any sleepy cues. He doesn't seem overtired. Are there cues I'm missing? Or is this just all the sleep he needs right now?

On the plus side, he is sleeping longer stretches at night.

Bleugh, that sounds typical of this age I'm afraid hun. 45mins naps are common at this age. There's also a 4mo SR too which is the pits.  It's great you're watching for sleepy cues and the average A times look good. Have you tried going in around the 35mins mark and trying a bit of w2s or HTTJ?

Great news about the nights though  :)
