Teeth still not through
I do give gel for the gums but must admit I don't like to give paracetamol unless really needed as he's already on omeprazole, ranitadine and infant gaviscon. But I will consider it if he gets really unsettled of course.
Yesterday we had a good day! As follows

S-12.55 ( was aiming for 13.05 but think wind down started too early as he fell asleep almost immediately on being places in the cot) woke at 35 mins was quie awake and smiled at me, I thought he prob wouldn't go back off but he did. Within 5 mins, holding hand/shh he went back off and I had to wake him at 15.05 as needed his milk. I hated waking him but he'd been down over two hours and only took a few ounces at his last milk feed so I wanted him to have his afternoon milk.
E-afternoon milk 15.10
A
E-dinner 16.50
A
E-bedtime bottle, bath , book
S-19.00 hrs fell asleep within 5-10 mins
He then woke after 35mins, again at 9ish, 2.55am,3.30-4.30 then up for the day at 6
I was really pleased with the naps yesterday!
Regarding the night time waking, I'm starting to think it may be habitual? Obviously not the nights he's woken with a wet nappy, but last night and prior to this he has generally woken between 4-5.30, now it seems to be creeping earlier. He not hungry, he's on 3 small meals plus usual milk in the day and has water with meals too. I think we may have created this night waking ourselves through ap. he slept through the night ( would go 11-12 hours) between 12-17 weeks. Then I think we hit a sleep regression plus increase in appetite before weaning at 24 weeks so I started feeding him again in the night. We have since fazed this out and he now has a drink of water if needed in the night. But we have instead got used to picking him up, sitting in the chair ( in his room) till he falls asleep on us then put him back in the cot. Last night between3.30-4.30 I tried pu/pd and he eventually settled in the cot. The reason I think it's habitual is because as soon as his head touches my arm when I pick him up he falls asleep then when I lay down he cries. Is this the correct situation in which to try pu/pd method?
In going to keep with the a times of 3hrs for now see how we go. If we get a short nap, ill offer another after 2hrs a time like you suggested. How will I know when he's ready for an increase in a times again?
