nap time length and sudden night waking questions
« on: October 11, 2014, 00:49:17 am »
My DD is 14 weeks old. ( will be 4 months old on Oct. 30)
She usually wakes up before next feeding time, and got really tired when it's time to feed and sometimes it becomes feed to sleep.
Also she used to sleep 4-5 hours at night, but now she wakes up every couple hours at night and I need to give her paci. Is it becoming the prop or is it sleep regression?
I have 2 older ones so a lot of time she only catnaps in the afternoon when her siblings are in the after school activities.

here is a rough routine she has , I try to put her on 3.5 hour.

7:30am E (4 oz)

9:00 am S

10:30 am Wake up (sometimes it's 1 hour nap)

11:00 am E (3 oz or 4 oz)

12 :15 pm S (sometime 45 minutes-1 hour)

1:15 pm wake up

2:30 pm E ( 4 oz)

3:15pm S ( have to give her paci a few times to extend her nap)

4:30 pm Wake up

6:00pm E (4 oz)

7:00pm cluster feed and sleep

9:00pm feed because she wakes up and I count it as a DF

12:30 am feeding ,

another feed at 3:30am , and another feed around 7:30am

but from bedtime to wake up time, she would wake up in between feedings for paci.

She started to fight swaddling, so I am swaddling her one arm now.
any insight is highly appreciated.

Hi, sorry you haven't had a reply as yet.
Is LO hungry do you think? Could be a growth spurt or wonder week.
The other thing you could try is extending that first A time by 5-10 mins to see if nap is longer as 45 mins is often an UT nap, after a good 1.5 nap the A time is around 1.45-2 hours at this age.
